This TANGO DIARY, for late 2008, was initiated in late September 2008 & it will be added to constantly as we receive information pertaining to Tango events in the locale. Information will be a bit sparse for a while, as things get back to normal after the summer disruption to the usual tango schedule. Listed first are the regular, weekly milongas. TANGO FIESTA : TRIORA

10th "Fiesta Nazionale di Humortango" (7/8/9 novembre 2008) a Triora
 

For ENGLISH readers, below is an outline of the event, in Italian, which translates, in brief, as a summary of this clubs' choice of Triora (one of the beautiful medieval citadels of Italy, a place ideal for a Hallowe'en time festival due to it's status as the capital of witchcraft in Italy)  for its 10th national festival of tango. We at "Tango-Triora" and "Tango Breaks" brought "Zorro da Imperia", one of the D.J.s &  tango a enthusiast, from the club, "Humour Tango", to Triora, in July 2008,  to D.J. one of our milongas. From that bewitched acorn hast this ghostly oak grown. For Italians, who are members of the club "Humour Tango" (don't worry Brits & Yanks, & other non-Italian speakers - you can come too - and stay in a medieval palace, with an English-speaking host and fellow tango addict),  they have been made a special offer, for 2 nights stay in a hotel room, 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners and 2 evening milongas and a post-luncheon mini-milonga on the third day, they are paying about 270 Euros a couple). FOR ENGLISH SPEAKERS who would prefer to stay in a medieval palace ... in a stylish and warm self-catering palazzo apartment for 2, we have a very special offer you: for only 245 Pounds Sterling (per apartment) you and a partner are welcome to stay for 3 nights (Fri/Sat/Sun 7/8/9 Nov '08) - or for as long as you wish, at the extra nights price of only 75 Pounds per night! Entrance to the milongas is free to you. Fiabesco paesino, famoso anche per un processo alle streghe nel 1587

Quando discutemmo il programma e il titolo da darci, uno di noi se ne
uscì con "Non facciamoci troppe streghe mentali..".
Preso al volo: per cui si intitolerà semplicemente "Streghe mentali".

Famosa anche per il suo pane oltrechè per i suoi processi alle
streghe (neanche adesso sono state inserite nel lodo Alfano,
cazzo..), Triora è borgo ancora sostanzialmente medievale.
Oìd, mortales: si adagia su una Valle chiamata Argentina...

pane di Triora.
Ricchi cotillons ai collions che partecipano.

Pranzo libero: ci sono un sacco di posti da scegliere, in loco...
sceglieremo come sempre all'ultimo momento, tutti assieme...
Pomeriggio: visita a quell'incantevole posto (afternoon guided tour of Triora and its museum)

Conferenza della Dottor.essa Morghana de Addams, su (con la preziosa
collaborazione e consulenza di Vaffaiblog): "E' meglio un tango
stringatamente stregato oggi o un tango stregatamente stringato
domani? Eh?... avanti,eh... si apra il dibattito...".
Seguirà, appunto, dibattito: si sono già prenotati in due (i gestori
dell'hotel, dopo l'ennesimo sconto...). (JOKES, etc.)
 

Ballo rigorosamente in costume stregonesco

(NOTE: HALLOWE'EN-STYLE FANCY DRESS MILONGA COSTUMES ARE REQUIRED!)
Non escluso l'uso delle scopa anche come cambio-partner, come nei
migliori lisci caserecci anni '60.

La famosa Maga "Yo indovino el palpadeo", inclitorida allieva del
Mago "Oh,melma", sarà disponibile per la sua famosa "Oroscopata
tanguera": sulla base delle congiunzioni astrali, vi saprà dire se
concluderete al meglio (cioè con congiunzioni da verticali ad
orizzontali) le vostre emozioni in milonga. (A PAIR OF TANGO-SEERS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO READ HOROSCOPES, CARDS, PALMS AND TANGO-RELATIONSHIPS!)

Il coro humortanguero stavolta riguarderà "La brùja" di Polito-
Gorrindo, famoso hit di D'Arienzo.
Opportunamente tradotta in ligure ("La krùka") dalla Sezione Locale
di Humortango: il testo riguarda l'incontro di uno sfigato tanguero
lombardo con una brava, ma molto men che avvenente, milonguera
alemanna di Francoèforte-maneppureilcenzinoscherza... (MORE JOKES ...)

Domenica 9 novembre: (Sunday)
Pranzo libero (dopo la notte stregonesca nel cielo sotto Merlino,
sarà un brunch di sicuro..).
E' praticamente certo che, dopo il pranzo, come sempre, ci scappa
anche la "milonghettafinale pomeridiana".
